Participants will leave with a better understanding of the types of pension plans and the Manitoba Locked-In Retirement Accounts (LIRAs), Life Income Funds (LIFs) and Prescribed RRIFs. Content includes:

Pension Plans - Defined Benefit Plans, Defined Contribution Plans, what determines jurisdictions a plan follows and definition of spouse/common-law partner.

MB LIRA- Receiving locked-in funds, relationship breakdown, third party demands, special releases, transfers, retirement options, estates payouts.

MB LIF, MB PRRIF - Maximum payments, prescribed transfer to MB RRIF, relationship breakdown, third party demands, special releases, transfers, estates payouts.
